About Cakes By Fhoua

Cakes by Fhoua opened its doors in the fall of 2006. Within its first year, Cakes by Fhoua has evolved from not only customizable cakes, but to pastries and baked goods. Cakes by Fhoua participated in the 2007 Hmong National Development Conference and presented two workshops on the art of cake decorating. Currently, Cakes by Fhoua is working on a "Cake Decorating Challenge" and its first "Birthday Party."

Our Purpose

Cakes by Fhoua's purpse is to install the value of our culture and fulfill the needs of our community by providing a bakery service that exceeds the standards of quality and taste! Embedding and creating a bakery line with Hmong designs, textiles, and flavors validatewho we are and what we strive to become in the eyes of the community and America.

Fhoua Chee Yang

Fhoua Chee Yang- Head Pastry Chef
Fhoua discovered her passion for the art of cake decorating when she got her first position in a bakery. Determined to pursue her passion, Fhoua attended Le Cordon Blue in Mendota Heights, MN and received her Pastery and Bakery Degree in 2005. Upon graduating, Fhoua turned her dream of owning her own bakery into a reality. She now fulfills her creativity of decorating cakes at her very own bakery, Cakes by Fhoua.

With her deep rooted passion for the art of baking and decorating, she has the capacity to turn any ideas into "edible" realitites!

Amorne Yang

Amorne Yang - Assistant Pastry Chef
As the older sister of Fhoua, Amorne was a fine asset to bring into the Cakes by Fhoua family. She contributes her daily creativity by consistently thinking of new ways to create attractive products.

With her extensive knowledge of the Hmong textiles and needlework, along with her passsion for fashion and flowers, Amorne has been able to nurture Cakes by Fhoua's growth.

Kao Yee Xiong

Kao Yee Xiong - Business Manager
Kao Yee has always wanted to be apart of a business world. Growing up in a family where entrepreneurship is very prominant, she couldn't help but become one herself. With a zest for preserving the Hmong culture, Kao Yee decided to incorporate her passion for the Hmong culture and arts by introducing a line of baked goods creatd to the Hmong people.

With her creativity and diversity, this is where all the endless ideas begin to formulate without limits.

LaMee Vang

LaMee Vang- Business Advisor and Web Master
LaMee is the newest addition to the Cakes by Fhoua family. Graduating with a double major in Marketing and Management Information Systems from the Carlson School of Management at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in the Spring of 2003, LaMee brings to Cakes by Fhoua energy and enthusiasm.

With her strong background in Corporate America, LaMee has been able to lead Cakes by Fhoua into a competitive future.
